Update on Enamel Bonding Strategies

چکیده
Optimal strategies for the application of an adhesive differ between enamel and dentin because differences in their composition. The development systems has mainly focused on bonding dentin, rather than enamel, by etching with phosphoric acid (PA). Dental technologies continue to rapidly advance, various have been developed since study Buonocore 1955. He introduced acid-etch technique. Then, etch-and-rinse (ER) system was developed, subsequently, self-etch (SE) system. Universal adhesives are a new generation one-bottle SE that can be applied either ER mode or mode, combined involving selective mode. Since combination PA differs from conventional systems, strategy should carefully considered. This concise review literature reliable prove helpful clinicians choose appropriate achieve optimal clinical outcomes.

متن کاملCorrelation between antioxidant activity and bonding strength on bleached enamel
Objective: This study used the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl-hydrate (DPPH) method to evaluate the percentage of antioxidant activity (%AA) of green tea (GT) and sodium ascorbate (SA) gel in three concentrations (10%, 20% and 30%), and the influence of these concentrations on the microshear bond strength (μ-SBT) values of bleached enamel, using 10% carbamide peroxide (CP). Materials and method...
متن کاملReversal of compromised bonding in bleached enamel.
Oxygen inhibits polymerization of resin-based materials. We hypothesized that compromised bonding to bleached enamel can be reversed with sodium ascorbate, an anti-oxidant. Sandblasted human enamel specimens were treated with distilled water (control) and 10% carbamide peroxide gel with or without further treatment with 10% sodium ascorbate. They were bonded with Single Bond (3M-ESPE) or Prime&...
متن کاملEvaluation of surface roughness of enamel after various bonding and clean-up procedures on enamel bonded with three different bonding agents: An in-vitro study
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare the enamel surface roughness before bonding and after debonding, to find correlation between the adhesive remnant index and its effect on enamel surface roughness and to evaluate which clean-up method is most efficient to provide a smoother enamel surface. MATERIAL AND METHODS 135 premolars were divided into 3 groups containing 4...
